PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The CSOC Analyst executes daily operations procedures as a matter of responsibility.
JOB SUMMARY
The role of the CSOC Analyst is the detailed and repeatable execution of all operational tasks as documented in processes and subordinate procedures. Specifically, the CSOC Analyst will be responsible for monitoring the SOC main channel for security events and closing. The CSOC analyst will typically monitor multiple security technologies, such as IDS/IPS, system logs, file integrity, vulnerability scanners, application logs, physical access devices, biometrics systems, and identity, access management systems and database logs.

Duties and Responsibilities
·         Correlate and analyse events using the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool to detect IT security incidents

·         Follow detailed operational process and procedures appropriately analyse, escalate, and assist in remediation of critical information security incidents to

·         Monitor SOC ticket queue for potential event reporting from outside entities and individual users

·         Maintain SOC shift logs with relevant activity from analyst shift

·         Document investigation results, ensuring relevant details are passed to Tier 2 for final event analysis

·         Update/reference SOC knowledge management platform as necessary for changes to SOC process and procedure, and ingest of SOC daily intelligence reports and previous shift logs

·         Identify false-positives and work with the content author to refine content

·         Perform analytics on attack chain dashboards

If you are found to be a suitable candidate for the programme, our representatives will contact you for an interview.

You will need to meet the following minimum criteria:

  • A minimum Admissions Points Score (APS) of 25.
  • A National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 4 (50-59%) or better in at least 4 of the recognised NSC 20-credit subjects as per to the Academy Admission pre-requisites policy.
  • All applicants must have achieved a pass of 50% or more in English (First or Second Language) and required to have an excellent control of the spoken and written English language.

The training programme

After you have been accepted to the programme, you will get into an all-encompassing and intensive training programme of 21 weeks mentored by lecturers who are proven industry experts with the relevant experience and capability who are here to give you all the right tools to rapidly adapt into the cyber security world.

The Placing process

During your training programme and a month before your training ends you will be invited to interviews with Information Security managers in Performanta or from the various companies that Performanta is working with and according to your success rates and your new skills acquired you will be placed at customer site for another 6 months on-site training and mentorship.

Purpose of the Job:

This role operates within the services team and serves as the point of contact in Performanta for services customers.  The Analyst is responsible for the technical and operational delivery of customer accounts in alignment to their respective SLA/Contract Agreements.  To ensure customer satisfaction by providing a high-level, proactive management, support and escalation channel for services customers into Performanta.  To market, deliver and ensure the successful support of Performanta technologies to ensure satisfied services customers.

The incumbent will be based at a client where he/she will be responsible for the following duties/tasks:

·          Daily maintenance and operations of the leverage firewall service infrastructure;

·          Will be working primarily with Check Point and firewall products in order to provide input into design where requested, confirm determine and/or troubleshoot firewall traffic flows;

·          Daily maintenance and operations of multiple customers’ firewalls and network security infrastructure;

·          Troubleshoot firewall traffic flows, as well as maintain accurate documentation of firewall and network security support activities and processes;

·          Solve problems with minimal customer input and ability to escalate when solution is not readily apparent;

·          Follow and adhere to the customer’s processes, policies and standards;

·          Provide input to the monthly customer reports for responsible areas;

·          After hour support, installations, upgrades and/or updates;

·          Assist with the Firewall Architect and Implementation Specialist (Performanta resources) with:

o    Documentation and planning as and when required;

o    Schedule and approval of change requests;

o    Monthly reporting.

CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: ·          CCSA

·          CCSE

·          CISSP (Advantage)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 5 Years IT Experience with 3 to 4 years in the Information Security space;
